“District Six is the fastest growing district in the city and it is imperative that the person representing this area understands the importance of balancing residential and commercial growth,” Levatino said.
In a release announcing her reelection bid, Levatino noted accomplishments in her district, including the construction of the East Mesa Public Safety Complex, installation of red lights on Roadrunner Parkway as well as pedestrian improvements near Veterans Park, the opening of the Walmart Neighborhood Market and other street, traffic and safety improvements.
She also noted each of the city’s hospitals opened urgent care centers in the district, improving access to health care for the residents.
“Much has been accomplished but there is still more to do. I will continue working to see our downtown and historic district revitalized. Our area is perfectly suited to take advantage of New Mexico’s booming film and television production industry. A sound stage will expand our economic base and allow our talented and well-trained graduates to remain in and contribute to our community,” Levatino said.
Last year, Levatino ran unsuccessfully for the state Senate District 37 seat.
